Identity System

The Tokyo 2024 Spring Olympics identity system draws inspiration from the delicate beauty of Japan’s national flower, the Cherry Blossom (Sakura). Symbolizing renewal, optimism, and the duality of life and death, the Sakura serves as a powerful emblem of the season. Vibrant pops of color mark the transition from winter to spring, infusing the design with energy and warmth. The distinct shape of the Sakura, creates a cohesive visual theme that unites every aspect of the identity system.
